Our Experience at NY NOW

New York Now is a highly anticipated annual, multi-day trade show where hundreds of vendors and wholesalers showcase their best products. Businesses from all over come to buy and view the vendors' collections. This year, the MPorium Student Directors, the Buying Team, and our faculty advisor traveled to the Javits Center in New York City on February 2nd to spend the day exploring and discovering new vendors to sell in-store this semester. 

They saw adorable new trends like pearl jewelry, beaded bags, natural skincare, bag and hat charms, and needlepoint pillows - all perfect for the upcoming semester.

The team also had their personal favorites. Mya and Valorie's favorite vendor was Culture Shop, a new ready-to-wear vendor. Alyssa, the jewelry buyer, loved Erin Gray and Kamaria Jewelry. Ava, the home and snack buyer, said her favorite was Lakrids by Bülow, a fun new licorice brand! Courtney, the gift and stationery buyer, said she loved That’s so Andrew! 

Mya, the Student Director of Buying, was thrilled to discover pieces that perfectly complement MPorium's new theme. The purpose of attending this trade show is to explore new products we haven't seen in MPorium before. Discovering new trends, colorways, and deciding on quantities are all part of the excitement!
