Oisrí is a brand co-founded by sisters Carleigh and Rachel. Carleigh, a Marist College alumni, studied fashion merchandising and marketing, while Rachel, a graduate of the Fashion Institute of Technology, specialized in fashion design with a focus on intimate apparel. After gaining experience in the fashion industry, the duo decided to combine their expertise to establish Oisrí. The brand draws inspiration from their Irish-American mother, who instilled in them the values of strength and confidence. The name "Oisrí" is the Gaelic translation of "Oyster," an emblem associated with Aphrodite, the goddess of love, fertility, pleasure, and beauty. Oysters' ability to produce pearls symbolizes the transformative power of persistence, turning the ordinary into something extraordinary. Oisrí’s collections embody a faerie-like, divine feminine theme, with the belief that wearing their designs can empower individuals and foster personal transformation. A distinguishing feature of their jewelry is that each piece is entirely handmade, incorporating authentic crystals and shells.
